This page explains how to request deletion of your Duffy By Design account and the personal data linked to it. Duffy By Design is the app and website at duffybydesign.com and duffybydesign.se.

The fastest route is inside the app. Open the Me screen and choose Delete your account.
How to request deletion
You can delete your account and its data yourself, at any time. There is no charge and you do not need to contact us first. You can also delete some of your data without deleting your account, or ask us to do it for you.
Delete some of your data, without deleting your account
You do not have to close your account to remove data. You can do any of the following yourself:
- Remove a saved chart: open the app, go to My charts, and remove any chart you no longer want. The chart and its birth details are deleted; your account stays.
- Turn off notifications: switch the daily reminder off in the app; that deletes your push subscription, including the device endpoint and keys and the birth data stored with it.
- Clear a journal line: open the Journal screen and clear the line for that day.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter: use the link at the foot of any email, or duffybydesign.com/unsubscribe.
- Ask us for anything else: email privacy [at] duffybydesign [dot] com and tell us what you want removed (for example a chart you generated while signed out, or a booking). We do it within 30 days, normally much sooner.
Delete your whole account — option 1, in the app (fastest)
- Open the app or the website at duffybydesign.com/app and sign in with your email and the six-digit code we send you.
- Open the Me screen.
- Choose Delete your account.
- If you would like a copy of your data first, choose Download my data; we email you a JSON file of everything we hold for your account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then confirm. Your account and its data are removed immediately and this cannot be undone.
Delete your whole account — option 2, by email
If you cannot sign in, email us at privacy [at] duffybydesign [dot] com from the address you used, with the subject "Delete my account". We reply to confirm, and complete the deletion within 30 days (normally much sooner).
We may ask you to confirm from the account email address, so that no one else can delete your account.
What is deleted
When you delete your account we permanently remove, from our live systems:
- Your account record: your email address and the account itself.
- Your saved charts: the name, birth date, birth time and birth place of every chart saved to the account.
- Your journal lines and the transit context saved with them.
- Your bookings linked to the account.
- Your sign-in links and sign-in codes, and all your active sessions (you are signed out everywhere).
- Your push notification subscription, including the device endpoint and keys and the birth data stored with it, if you had notifications on.
What is kept, and for how long
Two things are kept after deletion, because we are required to keep them or because they are not tied to your account:

| Purchase and bookkeeping records (for example an invoice or payment record for a reading or report you bought) | Swedish accounting law requires us to keep financial records for seven years from the end of the financial year. These records are no longer linked to a usable account, and we do not use them for anything except accounting and legal obligations. |
| A report written and published for you | A report is a purchased product and a business record. Deleting your account removes your access to it. The record itself is kept for seven years under the same accounting rule. |
| Backups | Encrypted backups age out automatically within 90 days, after which the deleted data is gone from them too. |
Charts made without an account
If you used the free chart tool without creating an account, those charts are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them. If you asked us to keep a chart for you and want it deleted, email privacy [at] duffybydesign [dot] com and we will remove it.
Newsletter and marketing
Deleting your account does not automatically unsubscribe you from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the foot of every email, or at duffybydesign.com/unsubscribe. You can also simply ask us and we will do it for you.
